Episode 8: “A Medicine Run, Linguistic Tetris, & Cake”

Episode 8: “A Medicine Run, Linguistic Tetris, & Cake”

This Episode was recorded during the week of March 9th. It basically chronicles a whole bunch of nothing, but it: 1) was fun to make, 2) was made in a timely manner and 3) features some stellar tuneage.

Episode 7: “Hope, Sticks, and Folds”

Episode 7: “Hope, Sticks, and Folds”

This episode chronicles the week of March 2nd. In it, I do a reading of A Ship Called Hope by the illustrious Bob Ducca, with a few added aural accoutrements of my own devising.

Next, we go to a brief walk with young Charchar that’s cut short due to coldness and Charlie trying to eat sticks. We pick up from the rec room where a classic Jesus, Charlie! clip is recorded.

Finally, we talk about Ben Folds Five song “Do It Anyway” from the 2012 release, The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind.

Episode 5: “Mistakes and Narratives”

Episode 5: “Mistakes and Narratives”

This episode chronicles the week of February 16 (but includes some material from Valentine’s Day).It starts with a clip at my sister’s house in Grant Park where she, her boyfriend Laine and I have a little chat. Then, fast forward two days for an apologetic clip in which I beg forgiveness for forgetting my dear friend Jake’s birthday – shout out to Lindsey for the psychic wisdom which helped me right that wrong. Finally, come with me to the store so we can get this weekend kicked of Jesus, Charlie! style and enjoy the new segment Song of the Week in which I detail my favorite song of the week. This week, we feature When You’re Smiling And Astride Me from Father John Misty’s most recent album, I Love You, Honeybear. FJM’s record lable, Sub Pop was even kind enough to put the whole album on YouTube, if you feel so inclined to hear more:

Episode 4: “Lyrical Katana Flow”

Episode 4: “Lyrical Katana Flow”

This episode chronicles the week of February 9th. There’s a family dinner, a walk with my sister Lauren, some musings about familiar-familial tension, reminiscence of wine-drunk-airborne-sexual-Japanese attraction, and much, much more.
